Q 1. Summarize, in your own words, what Jesus is teaching in the Sermon on the Mount (Plain). 2. In Dr. Linahan's article, The Sermon on the Mount and the Creator of Peace, she writes "Love of enemies is not so much an emotion as a thorough going putting-into-practice of radical and self-less care for the Other's well-being" (p.64). She explains ways of doing this by refusing to use violence against violence, attending to human needs, searching for justice, and trying to discover what we have in common with the "other" or the "enemy" (p. 68). What real life examples can you come up with that demonstrates "loving your enemies" as Dr. Linahan has described here? First post due Thursday, respond to two classmates by Saturday.
